SSL Certificates
LarVPS uses free Let’s Encrypt certificates and keeps SSL close to the site UI.
Where to manage SSL
Section titled “Where to manage SSL”Open the site in Sites, then open Site Settings.
The SSL Certificate block is the place to look first.
What the states mean
Section titled “What the states mean”- Let’s Encrypt SSL active: HTTPS is live
- Ready for SSL when DNS is ready: the site is fine, but the domain is not pointed correctly yet
- Waiting for DNS: LarVPS cannot validate the domain yet
- SSL needs attention: the last SSL attempt failed and needs review
Typical flow
Section titled “Typical flow”- Create the site
- Point the domain to the server
- Wait for the DNS signal to turn ready
- Issue SSL
- Confirm the state becomes active
When SSL is not ready yet
Section titled “When SSL is not ready yet”This does not always mean the site is broken.
- The app may already be working over HTTP
- DNS may still be propagating
- the domain may still point to another IP
LarVPS is intentionally explicit here so you know whether to fix DNS first or retry SSL.
Auto-renewal
Section titled “Auto-renewal”LarVPS renews standard site certificates automatically before expiry.
Common fixes
Section titled “Common fixes”| What you see | What to check |
|---|---|
Waiting for DNS | Make sure the domain resolves to the server IP |
SSL needs attention | Open the latest task log and confirm DNS, port 80 reachability, and site domain |
| Browser still warns after SSL | Check app URLs, redirects, and cached content |
